2023 Mid-Year Meeting
ITS Carolinas joined at the Incident Management track for a hands-on experience with back-of-queue collisions! The staged crash was intended to simulate the devastating consequences of a commercial motor vehicle crashing into the back of a queue of stopped traffic. These type crashes garner intense media attention when they occur in work zones; however, they can occur on any roadway where traffic is queued. Engineers, responders, and all motorists will benefit from this enhanced queue awareness.
