The Intelligent Transportation Society of the Carolinas (ITS Carolinas) was awarded the Division IV Outstanding State Chapter Award by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) at the ITS World Congress in Montreal on October 29, 2017. Determined by three selection criteria categories of Strong and Engaging Chapter Governance, Significant Impact via Networking, Outreach and Advocacy, and Effective Organizational and Professional Development, ITS Carolinas is particularly proud to receive this award with less than three years since its inception in 2015.
Designated for chapters “that have demonstrated a superb level of programming, fostered the highest qualities of leadership amongst members, advocated for ITS solutions at the state and regional levels, and provided outstanding value overall to their membership,” this award recognizes the remarkable commitment and investment by ITS Carolinas leadership and members in our young chapter.
The ITS Carolinas chapter experiences tremendous support through attendance at its annual meetings and involvement of the Board of Directors, committees and task forces. Many chapter members participate in the Operations Committee, Technical Committee, Communications Committee and Membership Committee to develop and work toward chapter strategic goals based on pursing initiatives that support the capability maturity of our public and private agency members.
ITS Carolinas is proud to accept this award as recognition of the momentum we have achieved since our inception in 2015. The chapter is committed to creating a collaborative environment that leverages public, private and academic stakeholders to influence policy as it applies to the integration of intelligent transportation systems for transportation operations in North and South Carolina.
